Following God’s Financial Plan

Matthew 6:19-34

5 STEPS TO FINANCIAL FREEDOM

1.  DEDICATE EVERYTHING TO God.

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. Matthew 6:33

In everything you do, put God first, and He will direct you and crown your efforts with success.  Proverbs 3:6 (TLB)

2.  GIVE THE FIRST PART TO GOD.

Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. Matthew 6:21

Honor the Lord by giving him the first part of all your income, and he will fill your barns with wheat and barley and overflow your wine vats with the finest wines. Proverbs 3:9-10 (TLB)

The purpose of tithing is to teach you always to put God first in your lives.  Deuteronomy 14:23b (TLB)

3.  SAVE FOR THE FUTURE.

The wise man saves for the future, but the foolish man spends whatever he gets. Proverbs 21:20 (TLB)

Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow. Proverbs 13:11 (NIV)

4.  REPAY WHAT YOU OWE.

The wicked borrow and never repay, but the godly are generous givers. Psalm 37:21

Owe nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God’s law. Romans 13:8

·         Not Planning my spending.

Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty. Proverbs 21:5 (GN)

·         Not Keeping good records.

Riches can disappear fast. And the king’s crown doesn’t stay in his family forever—so watch your business interests closely. Know the state of your flocks and your herds; Proverbs 27:23-24 (TLB)

5.  BE CONTENT WITH WHAT YOU HAVE.

“It is better to be satisfied with what you have than always be wanting something else.” Ecclesiastes 6:9 (GN)

Then he said, “Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own.” Luke 12:15
